🇵🇱 Międzynarodowe zawody w powożeniu w Lipicy (SLO), zaplanowane na 6-10 maja br., nie odbędą się. Komitet organizacyjny ogłosił to po potwierdzeniu obecności wirusa grypy w Słowenii. Przygotowania były na ostatniej prostej, program był już znany, a lista uczestników została opublikowana.

Decyzja została podjęta na wniosek wydziału weterynarii i słoweńskiej federacji jeździeckiej, po potwierdzeniu zakażeń wirusem grypy koni typu A w kraju. Według Federacji, przypadki odnotowano między innymi w regionie Lublany i przewiduje się dalsze rozprzestrzenianie się wirusa.

CANCELED! International competition in Lipica 2026

🇬🇧 The international CAI driving competition in Lipica (SLO), scheduled for May 6-10, will not take place. The organizing committee announced this after the presence of the influenza virus was confirmed in Slovenia. Preparations were in the final stages, the program was already known, and the participant list had been published.

The decision was made at the request of the Veterinary Department and the Slovenian Equestrian Federation, following the confirmation of equine influenza A infections in the country. According to the Federation, cases have been reported in the Ljubljana region, among other places, and further spread of the virus is predicted.

The organizers state that the cancellation is necessary to ensure biosecurity and protect the health and well-being of the horses. In this context, special attention is being paid to the protection of the horses at the Lipica Stud Farm, where the internationally renowned Lipizzan horses are bred and international driving competitions are held.

Influenza is a highly contagious respiratory disease that spreads rapidly through direct contact and airborne transmission. Outbreaks typically lead to travel restrictions and the suspension of competitions to prevent further spread of the disease.
